The Restaurant has crisp white cloths and sparkling glass, to set off our award-winning
cuisine. Breakfast (in the room price, but also available for non-residents) is served
7.00 - 10.00am. (8.00 - 10.00am., weekends). There is a morning snack menu. Lunch
is Noon - 2.30pm. Choose from the lunch menu, which ranges from interesting sandwiches
to full meals.
Proper afternoon teas are served 3.00 - 5.30pm. And in the evening we serve our dinner
menu (similar to lunch, but does not offer sandwiches) from 7.00pm. Last orders are
at 10.00pm. There is evening pianist entertainment, Friday and Saturday. And we have
a popular traditional Sunday lunch. The menus of our Chef-Director, Mark Turton,
follow the seasons, and are well-received critically. See our recent reviews. We
also serve pre-theatre meals for performances at the Borough Theatre.
The wine list matches the food, and features many Gold and Silver medal winners from
the International WINE Challenge. Plus we have 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 Awards
of Excellence from top US magazine, Wine Spectator; one of just 22 in the UK, and
only two in Wales.
